Female travel bloggers have come to dominate Instagram by offering us an insight into their experiences through captivating storytelling. However, as not only a female travel blogger but the owner of a black travel blog, I find myself regularly looking for inspiration. Although Instagram has become the holy grail of amazing travel inspirations, I have my favorite creators that lure me with their amazing travel content!
We all have a bucket list of places we dream of going to. Places like Europe, Africa, and Latin America are just a couple of the best travel destinations. Therefore, as a female travel blogger, I love searching for female blogs around the world and black travel blogs that aim to empower and portray some #blackgirlmagic!

7. Hey Ciara
Let’s talk about some #Blackgirlmagic! I get a lot of inspiration from other black travel blogs that are killing it in the female travel bloggers community. Black travel blogger @hey_ciara has been featured in top magazines such as Forbes and Cosmopolitan. Although gaining a significant following, her voice has remained authentic. While figuring out her passions, Ciara left her full-time job to pursue blogging. However, her success did take some time. Her honest insight on owning a black travel blog continues to inspire other solo female travelers.
8. The Blog Abroad
Speaking about black travel blogs, we can’t leave out the legendary blogger and entrepreneur Gloria Atanmo. Although she started in 2013, The Blog Abroad has grown to be an empire for Gloria Atanmo. Her black travel blog features solo female travel and insight on her life as a female blogger. Although she started as a travel blogger, Gloria Atanmo now uses her platform to empower others. The female entrepreneur @glographics offers her course, Blog like a Boss, as a tool for successful blogging. While advancing her career, she is now inspired to teach and mentor others.
9. How Not to Travel Like a Basic B****
Although controversial, @hownottotravellikeabasicb**** is a blog dedicated to sharing unfiltered educational content. Her platform shares the stories of minority groups that are unrepresented in the travel blogging community. Fiona, the blog owner, is an honest Latinx, who shares insight into socio-political issues. It is through her experiences while traveling that we stumble upon the ugly truths behind the countries visited, and how we can change the dialogue. Although Fiona is not a black travel blog owner, we do support our brown sisters as well! Her platform shares the story of Queer, Brown and Black voices. For me, her blog is very refreshing!
